Creative or Critical Thinking: What works in an organisation?

Have you heard this question before in any of your team meetings or conversations at workplace and wondered what is the right answer? Well, lets spend a minute or two understanding these two thinking models.

In the professional world, critical and creative thinking are two essential skills you will need to succeed. They both have distinct functions in our everyday lives, but they also work together when we put them to use.

Developing a creative thinking pattern is not something that happens overnight. It takes time, practice and proper implementation in order to develop the ability to think on your feet, outside of the box.The two work together to improve your brand, and both must be used for success. Do you want to know how your brand can benefit from both of these skills? Let’s take a look at how critical and creative thinking help to build a great business.

What is the difference between Creative and Critical Thinking?

Creative Thinking is divergent thinking. Creative thinking is the ability to generate new and useful ideas. It’s important to keep in mind that creativity doesn’t necessarily mean that a person thinks of something ground-breaking or innovative, it can be as simple as generating new ideas for things that already exist.

Critical thinking is a way of looking at things which attempts to make objective judgments and evaluations instead of being influenced by subjective emotions or prejudices.
